Plot: Two hitmen take on an assignment. That's all you need to know for now.

If Bong Joon-ho ever made a British folk horror film it'd probably look a lot like Kill List. That's definitely a compliment.

Kill List is like no other horror film ever made. An absolutely ingenious combination of different genres and moods, Ben Wheatley's masterwork takes both its viewers and its well-developed characters on a gloriously effed-up journey that delivers a seemingly endless stream of brilliantly-done set-pieces before arriving at one of the finest climaxes in any 2010s movie.

Like many of the films on this list, it's a movie where you should go in knowing as little as possible but in all honesty, the film is so great that even viewers who know its secrets will probably have a blast with it. From its superbly-done outbreaks of violence to one of the most touching depictions of friendship in any horror film, this is one movie that offers so, so much to everyone fortunate enough to see it.
