Plot: A father and daughter (Barry Pepper and Kaya Scoledario) become trapped in their home during a hurricane with a pack of alligators.

Crawl is the best aquatic monster horror movie since Jaws - no joke.

On the surface, Crawl just sounds like a B-Movie and yes, it does feature some of the schlock you'd expect - most notably that scene where Kaya Scoledario traps an alligator in a shower cubicle - but the thing which makes this one so satisfying is that it's not just a silly creature feature. It's a film made with real care, complete with engaging characters, stunning production values and dazzling direction from French horror maestro Alexandra Aja.

It's a heart-in-mouth, stomach-knottingly tense thrill ride that'll constantly have you yelling "Holy s**t!" all the way through, and quite frankly, this deserves to be the blueprint for every future Jaws knock-off. This is how you do it.
