50 Greatest James Bond Moments Of All Time

33. For Your Eyes Only: Ski Chase

1981's excellent For Your Eyes Only might've been a more down-to-earth offering than most of the Roger Moore era, but it still offers some very impressive action. A highlight of the film is this shockingly good ski chase, where Bond is chased by a group of assassins through the snow.

It's absolutely mad - it starts out with Bond doing a ski jump, then it goes through a forest, a crowd of skiers, a ski resort and finally down a bobsled track - but in the very best way and it never feels too stupid to take seriously. If only the rest of the Roger Moore era had nailed this balance so well.

Brilliantly paced, superbly choreographed and phenomenally directed by franchise veteran John Glen, this mid-film set-piece will linger in your memory long after you finish the film.

It's also a nice reminder that Bond films don't need space ships, invisible cars or villains who want to blow up the world in order to be exciting. They just need good film-making, high stakes and plenty of tension and that's certainly what's on offer here.
