50 Greatest James Bond Moments Of All Time

13. Goldfinger: Finale

The Spy Who Loved Me
United Artists

Goldfinger's dazzling finale, which is located at Fort Knox, caps off two hours of wonderful cinematic escapism with something that's even better than the film's other set-pieces. Like many of the best action films, Goldfinger is consistently awesome but it saves the best for last.

Like the rest of the movie, this finale is an exhilarating mixture of white-knuckle thrills, fantastical escapism and palm-sweating tension that absolutely explodes onto the screen and is an absolute pleasure to watch.

It's also got a thoroughly stressful bomb-defusal scenario and an awesome fight between Bond and Goldfinger's henchman Oddjob (Harold Sakata), not to mention one of the franchise's best gags - the bomb countdown stopping with '007' seconds left.

Honestly, what more could you want?
