45. The Man With The Golden Gun: Barrell Roll

The James Bond series has a wonderful habit of delivering absolutely amazing stunts that were, unlike in many of today's movies, done completely for real. This moment from The Man with the Golden Gun is one such example.

Yes, this jaw-dropping barrel roll stunt over a river is completely authentic, which makes it even more stunning to watch. It's not just one of the coolest stunts you'll ever see, it's also a definitive testament to the effectiveness of practical film-making as opposed to always falling back on CGI.

It's the best moment in The Man with the Golden Gun, the watchable but mediocre 9th film in the series. Unfortunately, it does have a really jarring slide-whistle sound effect, so this scene might be impressive enough to get onto this list but that inexplicable editing choice means it doesn't rank as highly as it otherwise would've done.
