50 Greatest Movie Scenes Of All Time

12. Tokyo Story - Isn't Life Disappointing

Well, isn€™t it? This usually simplistic Ozu written quote delivers a terrible truth, that life itself is a disappointment. This quote is only exemplified in the film, showing the lack of care some have for life. It took a death to bring a family together. Although it ultimately lead to unity €“ the life, before it was lost, led to nothing but disappointment and neglect. Perhaps the greatest film ever made, Tokyo Story is a beautifully crafted and all-in-all universal film. This quote is universal. The sheer gravitas of it is astonishing. I€™ll say it again, this scene is great. http://youtu.be/R65wTHVUCGk

11. Some Like it Hot - End Scene

Some Like it Hot. The greatest comedy of all time in my opinion. It is so smart throughout its dialogue based script and it's crafted so lovingly by its director. The end scene is not the funniest in the film, but it is the most iconic. I love it so much because it ends the film perfectly; it isn€™t a powerful or even a story wrapping scene. It is just very clever. It is unlike any other in cinema. http://youtu.be/CYUfPTeE0DM
