50 Most Anticipated Movies Of 2016 - Ranked
25. Assassins Creed
Video game movies are always something to be concerned about, thanks to the past track record that will never allow anyone to forget that Super Mario Bros was once a thing, but Assassin's Creed does boast some serious credentials. And Michael Fassbender isn't usually attracted to bad films (Jonah Hex aside).
He's playing the titular assassin, which immediately lends the film gravitas (it could have been someone like Sam Worthington very easily), and hopefully the presence of talents as bright as Potter actor Brendan Gleeson, Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons and Michael K. Williams in supporting roles means it isn't just going to be another Prince Of Persia.
As another plus, it's directed by Justin Kurzel, who has just directed Fassbender in the most recent and brilliant adaptation of Macbeth.
