50 Most Anticipated Movies Of 2016 - Ranked

24. Bourne 5

Bourne is back - and this time it's the real born and not the poor Jeremy Renner stand-in - in a curiously as-yet-unnamed fifth outing for the hard-hitting spy franchise, and he's still not entirely sure who he is.

Obviously the question of why the character would need further exploration after getting his answers and his revenge in Ultimatum is a pressing one - and a hook in itself - but Matt Damon is pretty clear that there's a good enough reason to return:

€œ has his memory back, but that doesn€™t mean he knows everything. It€™s 12 years since Jason Bourne has been on the grid. So we have to answer the questions, Where€™s he been? What€™s he doing? What gets him going again? So once we solved all that, then we had a movie.€
Renner isn't confirmed as back, despite rumours (there might still be a rumour), but Julia Stiles is, and Tommy Lee Jones is in as the head of the CIA. If he's not covering something up, I'll eat my hat.

Release Date: 29th July 2016
