50 Most Anticipated Movies Of 2016 - Ranked

18. Gambit

It's still a little uncertain whether the promised Gambit reboot will actually land in its most recently announced slot this October, but so far the wheels are still in motion.

Despite rumours that he had left the project, Channing Tatum is the latest actor to take on the role after the unfortunate misstep of Taylor Kitsch's version in X-Men Origins, and his recent track record gives ample reason to be confident. Let's just hope he can nail the charisma AND the necessary accent.

Doug Liman might not have inspired much hope if he was coming into this on the back of Jumper and Fair Game, but Edge Of Tomorrow restored a lot of faith, and his experience should guide the film towards a ridiculously tight deadline (production won't start until March). Happily none of the production false starts have dampened the over-riding belief that there's a good movie in there for Gambit.

Please let it be this one.
