50 Most Anticipated Movies Of 2017 - Ranked
28. The Snowman
After the adaptation of Headhunters was critically acclaimed and became Denmark's highest grossing film ever, it's surprising that it's taken this long for more of Jo Nesbo's work to be turned out for the big screen. His work is violent, dark and has that charming Scandinavian detachment that seems all the rage these days on TV, and now arguably his most famous work - The Snowman - is headed to cinemas.
Rather than sticking to Nesbo's mother tongue, Let The Right One In and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy director Tomas Alfredson has gone for an English-language adaptation with Michael Fassbender as Nesbo's star detective Harry Hole. That in itself immediately elevates the project, but the story itself - which has shades of Silence Of The Lambs to it - is ripe for adaptation.
Plus, if this film gives Val Kilmer a way back into A-list movies, then it deserves even more lavish attention.
