If you're a fan of movie Easter Eggs, there's a good chance that you've already got Steven Spielberg's meta epic Ready Player One marked on your calendar as a Must See. Where else do you get to see such a delightfully self-conscious marriage of the Iron Giant, Dungeons And Dragons, the Delorean and Freddie Krueger, after all?

On top of all of that knowing nerdiness, the film looks like potential sci-fi gold; it's set on the deeply pertinent stage of virtual reality gaming, as Tye Sheridan's hero lives in a dystopian future where the only real pleasure comes from a sort of opt-in Matrix.

It's definitely one of the most imaginative films on the slate, and we can only hope that the huge amount of effects work won't distract from the human message at its heart.
