Prepare to get another Disney ear-worm in your head at the tail end of 2019 as the studio brings Elsa and Anna back to the big screen (and Disney +) for a brand new story. Initially, there were no plans for a sequel, because the original's story was so successfully self-contained, but that changed when Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee came up with an idea strong enough to warrant it.

No doubt the astronomical success of the first movie helped sway Disney's decision to push for a sequel, but we've thankfully been primed with the reassurance that it could only have existed if the story was strong enough. So far, there are no details of that, other than the returning characters and some new cast members, but we can presumably expect something around Elsa's powers once more and the kingdom of Arandelle.

If they can capture the same blend of strong characters and great music again, it'll be a winner.
