8. It: Chapter Two

Given how incredibly well the first half of Andy Muschietti's It adaptation went down in 2017, the follow-up was already primed for success. Even without the new elements, fans would know to count on seeing more of the excellent young cast and Bill Skarsgård's sublime Pennywise not to mention Muschietti's eye for a scare.

But on top of all of that, the sequel also includes a whole new adult cast, which reads phenomenally well - James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Jay Ryan, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, James Ransone, and Andy Bean - and Muschietti's promise of even more weirdness drawn from Stephen King's source novel.

Hopefully, the ending won't be as odd and goofy as the TV mini-series, but there's reason to believe that the director and his hugely gifted cast will be able to pull this one off.
