11. The Suicide Squad

The Suicide Squad James Gunn
Warner Bros.

It's tough to imagine any filmmaker better-suited to bringing the Suicide Squad back to the big screen than James Gunn, who will get to fully fly his freak flag in this R-rated standalone sequel/soft reboot to the 2016 original.

Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, and Viola Davis will reprise their respective roles of Harley Quinn, Rick Flag, Captain Boomerang, and Amanda Waller, while the expanded supporting cast includes a near-innumerable number of name actors, including (but not limited to) Idris Elba, John Cena, Peter Capaldi, Sylvester Stallone, Michael Rooker, and Nathan Fillion.

Needless to say, many members of the ensemble will probably be stopping by for nothing more than fleeting cameos, but from what we've seen so far, Gunn's rendition of the iconic anti-hero team-up seems effortlessly superior to David Ayer's bungled prior effort. Phew.
