50 Most Exciting Upcoming Comic Book Movies - Ranked

34. Chew

Status: Cooking Due: Not confirmed yet. Key Players: Steven Yeun is playing Tony Chu, Felicia Day will play Amelia Mintz and David Tennant is in as Mason Savoy. All great castings, and having John Layman (the comics creator) script, and Jeff Krelitz direct is also a smart move. What€™s It About: Chu, a cibopath (he detects visions by tasting things) employs his particular set of skills to help solve crimes as part of the FDA, leading to some disgusting, but quite wonderfully unique cases. Why We Should Care: The fact that it's taken this long to see the cult comic released as a film is a disgrace. Even though it's only an animation, anything that fixes that is hugely exciting.

33. Green Lantern Corps

Status: Confirmed Due: June 19th 2020 Key Players: Nobody yet, though we can definitely rule out Ryan Reynolds. Tyrese Gibson has campaigned hard for the role of John Stewart, and everyone in their right mind seemingly wants Nathan Fillion as Hal Jordan. Fan votes count for nothing though. What€™s It About: Hopefully several different lanterns combine to take on a major intergalactic threat, without too much focus on unnecessary origin stories. Hopefully Mark Strong will be brought back to revive his Sinestro and lead his own sinister corps. Why We Should Care: The characters are enduringly popular, even if it looks like DC are waiting a long time to roll this dice again, and it's very much a case that it SHOULD work with the right people involved.
