5. Ashley Benson
Her role on the hugely-popular
Pretty Little Liars has her playing a girl wrapped in mystery and intrigue trying to uncover the truth and we think that Benson could easily play a version of the Slayer closer to the role that original Buffy Kirsty Swanson portrayed in the movie, rather than her much more successful TV counterpart. Plus, as seen in breakout movie
Spring Breakers, she can handle a weapon pretty damn well. With Benson's natural flair for comedy and her ability to drop a killer one-liner as well as plenty of natural sass, we could see her Buffy being a much snarkier, lighter and breezier portrayal than previous incarnations and while some diehard fans would be horrified at the change of pace and tone, we can't help but feel it'd be incredibly fun to watch, particularly in a sea of over-serious heroes and heroines on the big screen.
