6 Avengers: Age Of Ultron Deleted Scenes You Need To See
3. War Machine
James 'Rhodey' Rhodes, otherwise known as War Machine, is much more of an Iron Man character than an Avengers one. Thus he doesn't get too big a role in Age Of Ultron, although he does help out in the Battle of Sokovia and appear at the party in Avengers Tower. He also appeared via video call having a conversation with Stark and Black Widow about the global threat Ultron poses, remarking that countries around the world with nuclear weapons are facing a potential cyber-attack. He also states that War Machine is being deployed to the Middle East, in case nations start going to war with each other over it. It does a little bit more to establish the threat of Ultron, and also informs us of where Rhodey was while all of this was going on. Later in the same scene, Captain America asks Thor if he's had any luck getting help from "up-high,", to which Thor replies that he hasn't been able to contact Heimdall, as he either isn't at his post, or has been ordered not to answer. That could be a clue to what the character is doing, and the state of affairs on Asgard, come Thor: Ragnorak.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
