6 Deliciously Good Food Moments In Film

2. Ratatouille (2007) The career of Disney Pixar film studios continually boasts a series of visually satisfying and beautiful films both appealing to children and adults alike. One particular film, Ratatouille, depicts a tale about an ambitious Rat called Remy who displays impressive culinary skills and aids a friendly young man named Linguini in becoming a successful and talented chef of the prestigious Paris restaurant, Gusteau€™s. Meanwhile the film teaches us that, €œAnyone can cook€. The film went onto receive universal critical acclaim, while being nominated for five Oscars and winning an award for best animated feature film. It is too often that people disregard food for being an art-form. A meal which is prepared with such care does and can move us emotionally in similar ways that a painting and a film can. Ratatouille teaches us that food can move us both overpoweringly and profoundly. In the climatic scene of the film, the notorious film critic Anton Ego is served with a Ratatouille of Remy€™s design, which causes him to bring back fond memories of his own mothers cooking as a child, leaving him speechless. The scene itself is beautifully shot and executed, while being visually compelling and touching. This entry deserves a place on this list for that reason, together with its appetizing dishes created throughout the film.
