2. Bill Paxton
I have to start this by saying that I love Bill Paxton. Every time I say that and people say 'who?' I die a little inside! I find it tragic that people don't know who he is. As a child, two of my favourite films were Twister and Aliens. Bill Paxton stars in both of these films. I can understand why he would not be as recognisable today, since he doesn't appear in much nowadays. His recent big movie was a small role in the entertaining, but overall disappointing, Haywire. He was also the star of the TV show Big Love; it was about a man with three wives. In Aliens, Bill Paxton played the hilarious and cowardly Private Hudson who added light comic relief to the horrors surrounding the marines. He had a role in Titanic where he was the head of the excavation crew searching the wreckage for the blue heart of the ocean. He even has a minuscule part in The Terminator, right at the start, where he plays a loitering 'teenager' who Arnie throws to the side. As you can probably guess, he and James Cameron are good friends. I could go on but the fact is that Bill Paxton is a great actor who didn't get a lot of lead roles in his hay-day, so his name has never exactly been on everyone's minds. He recently starred in the fantastic Western miniseries Hatfields & McCoys alongside Kevin Costner - you should check that out.
