The popular HBO TV series created by Darren Star and based on the book of the same name by Candace Bushnell set in New York spawned a film in 2008 that experienced immediate commercial success and became the highest grossing romantic comedy of 2008. A sequel was released in 2010 much to the delight of its cult of following fans despite the negative response received from critics. Depicting the lives of a group of four women who during their course were consuming many drinks and following trends of indulging in fashion, dining and men. One particular eloquent alcoholic drink remained a constant tipple for the sophisticated ladies: the Cosmopolitan. The Cosmopolitan itself has been transformed into a cultural object with its presence during the series and two films. This led to an increase in demand and popularity at social gatherings and amongst the nightlife as the drink became and still is associated with the Sex and the City ladies.
How to make a Cosmopolitan: Pour 2 parts vodka, 1 part triple sec, 1 part vodka and lime juice into a cocktail shaker half filled with ice cubes. Shake well and serve into a cocktail glass. Consume with another three associates.
