6 Film and TV Languages You Can Actually Speak

1. The Fifth Element: Monoshawan

Referred to most commonly as the Divine language, Milla Jovovich as Leeloo speaks almost exclusively in Monoshawan in The Fifth Element, an alien language restricted to only around 300 - 400 words.

The film is wacky enough as it is, the sickeningly colourful mind-vomit of the one and only Luc Besson functioning as the classic tale between good and evil. Leeloo is the cosmos' defence against Great Evil closing in on the universe, protected by badass cab driver Bruce Willis. It really is a wild ride from start to finish, and one that you too can get involved with through Besson's secret language.

Jovovich apparently had to learn the entire thing before filming began, practising by writing letters to the director in the alien alphabet and ending filming with being able to have conversational Monoshawan between takes. From the official Divine language website it's 'supposedly the root of all human tongues. It seems to be a mixture of everything from French to Japanese to Aramaic and maybe even a hint of English. From the looks, it's really just a complex cipher of French.' Well then.
