6 Huge Star Wars Movie Rumours You Need To Know

Even if that earlier rumour about Lucasfilm wanting to focus more on the dark side is true... that doesn't mean they're going to be abandoning the light side altogether.

This final entry, once again, comes to us from Daniel Richtman, with the scooper recently revealing that a movie "about the very first Jedi" is in the works over at Lucasfilm, and what's more, Richtman was told that this Jedi will be a female:

"A Star Wars movie about the very first Jedi (hearing it's a female) is in development. I don't have any more details."

Going back to see the origins of the Jedi sounds like an exciting idea - it's playing around with an era of Star Wars that we don't know much about - and interestingly, there's even some fervent fan speculation that Taika Waititi's movie might revolve around the earliest days of the Jedi.

If this rumour is true, then it further hammers home a point we made earlier: Lucasfilm wants to move away from the Skywalker Saga, at least cinematically. Seeing characters we all know and love can be awesome (as the Mandalorian's season two finale proved), but Star Wars is a vast universe with limitless possibilities, and it's time that the movies got out there and explored it.
