3. O Brother, Where Art Thou?
After a sensational run of films in the 90s, The Coen Brothers had a less than memorable start to the 2000s. While they found success later in the decade, The Man Who Wasn't There, Intolerable Cruelty, and The Ladykillers were the three worst films of the duo's career. Maybe it's because of those three films that people forget about what came before it, a film that is one of my favorites the Coens have made. O Brother, Where Art Thou? holds the record for the film I've seen the most times, because it's insanely rewatchable and always a delight. George Clooney, John Turturro, and Tim Blake Nelson fill the "stupid-slapstick" roles the Coens are known for like a glove, playing off each other with a fantastic chemistry. The entire film is peppered with great supporting roles from Stephen Root, John Goodman, and other Coen-brothers regulars. This may not have the story to match something like Fargo or No Country For Old Men, but as far as enjoyablity and laughs go, this film is hard to beat.
