6 Most Important Characters Missing From Captain America: Civil War
6. The New Warriors
An inexperienced team of young superheroes, The New Warriors are part of the chain of events which kick off the entire Civil War. A group of young, unproven heroes (who also happened to be reality TV stars, because why not?) The New Warriors record themselves raiding a suburban house containing the super-villain Nitro in the very first pages of Civil War. Nitro doesnt take too kindly to being smacked down by a bunch of teenagers and uses his explosive powers to level an entire block, destroying a school and killing hundreds in the process. The surviving New Warriors get the lions share of the blame, and the call to federally regulate anybody with super powers is made. Obviously none of these characters have appeared in the MCU up to this point, so you can see why Marvel might be reluctant to add even more new names to Cap 3s IMDB listing. Introducing The New Warriors could have worked though, with the international activities of the Avengers inspiring super-powered youngsters to take on threats greater than themselves before inadvertently causing tragedy. So what's the alternative? Elizabeth Olsens Scarlet Witch is just about unpredictable enough to be the catalyst for the MCUs big superhero throw-down instead, especially as shes confirmed to be in the film but has been missing from all promotional and concept art seen so far, spurious or otherwise. It seems like a missed opportunity though, as it would have been interesting to see Tony Stark confront the consequences of his good intentions once again by seeing how he inspires others to risk their own lives and endanger others.
