6 Movies & TV Shows That Stole From Lesser-Seen Cult Classics

5. Jeepers Creepers Lifted An Entire Sequence From Unsolved Mysteries

Jeepers Creepers is one of the most iconic horror films of the noughties. However, its most memorable sequence is a copy of a reenactment of a real crime.

While driving along a Michigan road a married couple, Ray and Marie Thorton, drive past an abandoned school house and see a man named Dennis DePue seemingly disposing of a body. This sounds similar to Jeepers Creepers' main characters Darry and Trish passing by the dilapidated church and witnessing the iconic creeper disposing of bodies.

It would be fine if the movie was simply inspired by this, but the sequence in Jeepers Creepers is a near shot-for-shot remake of a reenactment of the DePue crime from an episode of 90s true-crime show Unsolved Mysteries.

The only thing the Jeepers Creepers sequence is missing is Robert Stack's creepy narration.
