The only ones who can stop him are a group of remarkable people, to see if they can work together and become something more. - Getting the Crew Together €“ SHIELD sends their agents across the globe to gather up these disparate individuals and convince them to join the team, each with varying success. - The First Victory €“ Capturing Loki in Germany. Loki makes his first attack on the humans, and makes a show of it outside museum in Stuttgart. However, Captain America and Ironman intervene before the action escalates. - The Failure Mission €“ The attack on the helicarrier. Loki has been captured, but something isn€™t right. As the Avengers themselves begin to turn against each other under the influence of Loki€™s staff, his cronies have begun infiltrating the ship and sabotaging the engines. As the chaos erupts, each Avenger goes off on their own, not bothering to team up with each other as the helicarrier falls from the sky. During the hectic battle, the Hulk and Thor go M.I.A. and the team loses a valuable member. - The Sacrificial Lamb €“ Phil Coulson. Undoubtedly the biggest casualty during the helicarrier attack, his death hits the Avengers close to him, though he was only close to a few of them. While this was a mini victory for Loki, this ultimately leads to his defeat as Coulson€™s death proved to be the final push the Avengers needed to rise to the occasion and protect the Earth. One awesome lock and load montage later and they are on their way to the€ - The Final Battle €“ The Chitauri assault of Manhattan. With Loki having opened the portal and unleashing his legion of aliens to destroy New York, the Avengers finally assemble to take on this massive threat. They have finally become what Nick Fury has envisioned: a cohesive team of Earth€™s mightiest heroes that the world can call on. The battle is appropriately epic, and would€™ve ended in a nuclear explosion had it not been for Ironman€™s heroic near sacrifice at redirecting the missile towards the Chitauri mother ship. After a devastating skirmish, the Avengers emerge victorious.
