Serenity A band of space smugglers must band together and fight back against the corrupt leadership of The Alliance and their agents in order to save the mysterious girl that has stowed away on their ship. - The Traditional Hero €“ Mal Reynolds (Nathan Fillion) - The Scene Chewing Villain €“ The Operative (Chiwetel Ejiofer) - The Foil €“ Simon Tam (Sean Maher) - Dire scenario €“ The Alliance has an iron grip on the inner planets, forcing honest folks like Mal and his crew to turn to dishonest work following the defeat of their rebellion during the war. What€™s more, they are after River Tam, a passenger on Mal€™s ship in order to silence her once and for all. - Getting the Crew Together €“ The opening of the film reintroduces you to every character in efficient fashion in case you didn€™t watch the TV show that preceded it. - The First Victory €“ The Alliance bank robbery. More or less a victory, the crew manages to pull off a job robbing an Alliance bank station for one of their clients by the skin of their teeth. Even when Reavers show up to complicate things, the crew manages to escape without a single casualty. Well, River swallowed a bug. - The Failure Mission €“ The destruction of Haven. Knowing that the Serenity crew has River Tam, the alliance goes through every one of their known associates and kills them all. They start with Haven, an appropriately named vista for the crew. Everyone, including the children, is executed and the place is destroyed. The Serenity crew arrive too late to provide any intervention. - The Sacrificial Lamb €“ Shepherd Book. Part of the casualties of the Haven assault, Book goes down fighting as he shoots down the ship that destroyed them. As he lays dying in Mal€™s arms, his final words stir something in Mal. Things just got personal - The Final Battle €“ The Alliance vs. the Reavers vs. Serenity. Armed with the secret the Alliance will kill to protect, the Serenity crew has one shot at getting the word out. The only problem is that an army of Alliance ships waiting for them. What better way to combat that than with an immense army of Reaver ships chasing your tail? As the battle rages in the skies above, the crew set up their Alamo from incoming Reaver soldiers. Mal goes off to send the message and gets into one final fisticuff with The Operative, and by the end of the battle, nearly everyone is injured or near death, but also victorious.
