6 Places The Soul Stone Might Turn Up In The MCU

Another, even likelier, way to introduce the Soul Stone in Infinity War is to have it already in Thanos' possession. It would save on time, for one thing, and when the writers are talking about a sixty-plus person cast, every minute of screen time is valuable.

Already holding an Infinity Stone would also go a ways towards strengthening Thanos' credibility. A common complaint among MCU fans is that the supposedly world-destroying menace has done little but sit around in his floating chair and monologue for six movies. If he has secured an Infinity Stone off screen, however, he may seem a little more proactive.

Most importantly, this would serve to mitigate a plot hole that has existed since The Avengers. In that film, Thanos gifts Loki with a magical sceptre, which of course, is later revealed to contain the Mind Stone.

The idea that someone obsessed with the Infinity Stones would willingly give one away is as aggravating as it is stupid, but if he had another Stone in reserve, the move looks slightly less ridiculous. Slightly.
