6 Reasons A Deadpool Movie Should Definitely Happen

6. A (Possibly Indecent) Proposal

Let€™s start with the obvious, and possibly most controversial, piece of the puzzle: Ryan Reynolds has been attached to the Deadpool project for years now, and he€™s been just as vocal about getting it made as many fans have. He€™s a major box office draw, and it€™s obvious that he has a genuine interest in the project and a liking for the character, and that€™s something we can all appreciate in an actor that€™s part of any project €“ especially one like this. Reynolds is also a good choice for the character. Yes, people rail against his role in the laboriously-titled X-Men: Origins: Wolverine, but I would argue that the downfall of that iteration lies with the movie he was in, not with the character or the actor himself. Similarly, it€™s tough to hold Reynolds responsible for the fairly abysmal first outing of Green Lantern. Does he have an ideal track record in superhero films? Definitely not. But does that mean he€™s incapable of playing a great Deadpool? Not at all. According to those on the creative team who have seen the rare three minutes of test footage Reynolds shot, the character is right in his wheelhouse, and that's an incredibly exciting cornerstone to have in place.
