1. Deadpool Is A Novelty
So Deadpools tough to sell, huh? Well, actually, many of the things that present challenges to the traditional superhero movie mold can also be seen as unique benefits to the character and his movie. For example: Hes the Merc With A Mouth. Deadpools no hero by the traditional standards. But when has an audience ever said no to a wise-cracking antihero? You only have to look as far as Peter Dinklages Tyrion on Game of Thrones, or any number of other current characters in television or film to see how appealing they are to audiences. He breaks the fourth wall. Yeah. A lot. Thats one of the things Deadpool is famous for in the comics, and according to Reese and Wernick, thats the way itll be onscreen too. Now, breaking the fourth wall isnt exactly a typical device in film by any means, but so what? Its different. And sometimes, different is good. What do you think?
