6 Reasons Daniel Craig Will (Probably) Do Another James Bond Movie
3. The Recasting Rumours Haven't Advanced Much
The biggest knock against the notion of Daniel Craig returning is the seemingly endless debate of who's going to succeed him in the role; if discussion of Bond #7 is already underway, isn't that acceptance #6 is on the way out?
Well, possibly, but that ignores the fact who's going to follow up Craig has been happening since before Skyfall hit - that's four years ago, back when Idris Elba may have been young enough to fit - and pretty much everything since has been based on independently-decided betting odds, rather than anything substantial from within the studio. The only concrete information came from the Sony email leaks, and even that was more speculative (and, crucially, from people who clearly don't have a clue about movie-making).
While it's fun to debate who out of Messrs Lewis, Elba, Hiddleston, Turner, Bell et al will eventually get to wear the Omega watch (out of the favourite's my money's on Turner, but it'll likely be a dark horse), it's fan motivated for the most part and doesn't really represent anything that's going on; if it was, we'd likely start hearing proper rumours rather than what someone at William Hill thinks. By all means place a bet, but don't expect a payout any time soon.
