6 Reasons Why Jaws Is Secretly A Western

1. Gunfight On The Orca

Jaws Western
Universal

After all of Quint's tricks and all of Hooper's technology have failed, the final showdown between man and beast comes down to a shootout. Who will blink first? Brody perched upon the mast of the sinking Orca or the shark charging him, chewing on the air canister which was stuffed into it's mouth moments before; reminiscent of Clint Eastwood chewing on a cigar in a classic spaghetti western.

The shark with no name versus the sheriff. It's classic western territory, this could be The Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, A Fist Full of Dollars, Shane, take your pick.

We all know who wins, the Sheriff rides (swims) back to his town victorious, the shark sinks to the depths. This ocean wasn't big enough for the both of them.
