6 Things The Birds Of Prey Movie Must Do

2. Merge Gotham City Sirens Style With Birds Of Prey

As mentioned in the introduction, this is not the core Birds Of Prey. Recognisable and popular hero Batgirl has been shafted for Harley, and while Huntress leaving would have upset less people, adding in Barbara Gordon would’ve complicated the lore across the DCEU. Fans don’t always like when marketing decisions influence the final project, but attaching a proven success in Robbie’s Harley Quinn is a smart move.

The TV series lacked any real edge, and having Harley Quinn right in the thick of things ensures that won’t be a problem this time around. So why not just go with Harley’s actual team of Gotham City Sirens? The optimistic fans are hoping Catwoman and Poison Ivy are being saved for later appearances. Anne Hathaway in The Dark Knight Rises helped wash away the stain of Halle Berry, while Ivy deserves better than Uma Thurman’s campy turn.

The more pessimistic fans are fearing they’ve opted for two relative Ringos to allow Harley and Black Mask to battle as John and Paul. Hopefully the movie gets the right mix of the Sirens’ attitude with the teamwork of the Birds.
