6 Trailers That Were Released Over A Year Before The Movie Came Out

Honourable Mention - Comic-Con Exclusives

Just because a film hasn't had a trailer released online doesn't always mean certain members of the public haven't seen some footage from it. Rogue One had a concept trailer at Star Wars Celebration in April 2015, Batman V Superman's first footage hit at Comic-Con 2014, the same year as Kong: Skull Island's concept trailer, and even lower-profile films consistently have long-in-advance teases at various conventions.

The distinction with all of these is that most aren't released to a wider audience - they're shown once in Hall H, never to be seen again outside of grainy portrait videos. So while these technically were trailers for movies that hit over a year ahead of time, they never had the opportunity to be endlessly rewatched and obsessively dissected (there are some outliers though, which we'll see in a bit).
