"There has been an awakening. Have you felt it?"

And with that, Star Wars was back. The first teaser for The Force Awakens came in at just over 80 seconds long, featuring only nine individual shots and an awful lot of black screen, but it did a phenomenal job of getting everyone amped for another jaunt in that galaxy far, far away.

The only thing more agonising than how teasing it was was that it was going to be over a year until the movie hit. Many people bemoaned this decision at the time, thinking it was far too much, but the gap was essential in making Episode VII such a hit - this advance notice only made it more exciting when Lucasfilm engaged in its drip-feed marketing.

Even now, knowing what it all means and realising a lot of this was preliminary (effects are unfinished and BB-8 doesn't sound like BB-8), it's still hard to not get chills rewatching it for the 108th time.
