67 WTF Moments From The Terminator Franchise

32. Those Terrible Special Effects - The Terminator

The original Terminator movie was made on a relatively low-budget over 30 years ago, so it's safe to say that not everything is going to look stellar effects-wise, but even so, a lot of the movie's visual tricks didn't exactly look amazing a few short years after the film's release. The most infamous examples, of course, are when the T-800 removes his eyeball (pictured above), and at the movie's climax, where his endoskeleton form is revealed and stop-motion techniques are used to show him pursuing Kyle and Sarah. Thankfully, Cameron's direction is so strong and the film is so well constructed otherwise that it's easy to forgive, and will do little to diminish its legacy moving forward.

31. Dr. Silberman Cameo - Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines

If a lot of the comic relief and references to prior Terminator movies don't work in T3, here's one that absolutely does. Seeing Earl Boen reprise his role as Dr. Silberman is a rather hilarious callback to his part in the first two movies, as he counsels Kate after she's been rescued from the T-850 by a SWAT team. He tells her, "I know what it's like to be in a hostage situation, I've been there myself. The fear, the adrenaline, you find yourself imagining things, impossible things, crazy things, insane things... takes years to get over it", quite obviously referring to how he dealt with his encounter with the two Terminators in T2. He exits the film when he sees the T-850 causing havoc, promptly running away as his emotional scars are again pried open.
