8. Kyle Reese Is John Connor's Father - The Terminator
The great final twist of the original movie, of course, is that John Connor's father turns out to have been Kyle Reese all along, creating a peculiar "chicken and egg" closed loop, in which if John doesn't send back Kyle to impregnate his mother, then he's never born in the first place. Fans have debated the plot point for years, and will continue to until the end of time, but it's certainly one of cinema's most cleverly ambiguous interpretations of time travel. That it still has people arguing over the original nature of John's parentage is a testament to how brilliantly Cameron wrote it.
7. The T-1000 Malfunctions - Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Another great moment that was reserved for T2's Special Edition shows the T-1000 malfunctioning after reforming following his little liquid nitrogen episode. His form-taking abilities have been compromised, and at one point, his hand not only changes to the color of a rail at the steel mill, but it also gets stuck and begins to stretch as he pulls it away. His shoes also get stuck to the metal floor at one point. It certainly adds a little quirk to the film, and given how much effort clearly went into getting it right, it's a shame that it wasn't in the first-run version of the film.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
