67 WTF Moments From The Terminator Franchise

58. The Elton John Sunglasses - Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines

Possibly the most embarrassing moment in Terminator 3 (and boy, there are a bunch of them) sees Arnold's T-850 showing up naked at a gay bar to acquire some clothes and transportation. It's a rather corny subversion of the similar scene from T2, though this time his nudity of course goes over a little more naturally. He gets the clothes from a stripper, and as he leaves the establishment, puts on the man's sunglasses, which, of course, look more like something Elton John would wear. Thankfully he discards them soon after, but it's still a painful reminder for Terminator fans of how quickly the franchise went downhill after Cameron bailed out.

57. The Lorry Dive - Terminator 2: Judgment Day

One of the most awe-inspiring moments of the entire series occurs when John drives his piddly motorbike into the storm drains of Los Angeles to escape the T-1000, who has been pursuing him in a giant lorry. He thinks he's made it away when, after a few seconds, he can hear commotion on the bridge above him, and the lorry drives off the bridge to continue its pursuit of John. It's one of the first big action beats in the movie and, though perhaps a simple stunt by modern standards, is superbly shot through by Cameron, meaning that it continues to astound over 20 years later.
