3. Vincent Price
Confirmed Deaths: 33 As one of the original masters of horror, it is no surprise to see Price so high up in this list. He even joined the ranks of perishable Disney villains as the rodent version of Moriarty in The Great Mouse Detective in 1986. While Price was a talented character actor and played many roles outside of the horror genre, it is his work within this field that produced the high amount of entries on this list, although he did suffer quite a few non-horror related deaths too.
Famous Examples Appearing in a huge glut of horror films at least means there is a large variation of ways in which Price dies. He is shot often, falls to his death a huge amount and is torn apart by the steel claws of a man dressed as a giant bat on at least one occasion. He also played the central antagonist in the original House of Wax. While Price seemed to fall to his death quite often, only once was it into a vat of boiling wax, which seems a singularly unpleasant way to die.
Most Memorable Death Scene In 1973's Theatre of Blood, Price plays the useless Shakespearean actor Edward Lionheart, who swears revenge on the seven critics he feels have bedevilled his career with their harsh reviews. Upon trapping the final critic, he attempts to blind him, only to be interrupted by the police. Lionheart is forced to set fire to the theatre, which causes the ceiling to collapse and the floor to cave in, dropping Lionheart to his death in the middle of his delivery of a King Lear monologue. The watching critic's final offering? "You must admit, he did know how to make an exit"
