5. Toy Story 3
Now onto our second and last Pixar entry into this article. As good as the first and second Toy Story movies were, they've got nothing on the third (and hopefully final) installment of the franchise. When their loving owner Andy is finally set to go to college, the toys begin to fear for their future. Andy intends to take Woody with him to college and put the rest in the attic for storage, but his mother accidentally throws them out with the garbage. The toys believe this was intentional, and decide to get themselves donated to a day care center. At first, all goes well, until the toys get abused by the toddlers, whereupon Woody attempts to escape, but is found and taken home by Bonnie, a young girl at the daycare. Finally, after being reunited once again, the toys mount a final escape, which ends with them facing death in an incinerator. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCNgNkAZqg4
The Bittersweet Ending: Of course they escape. Upon getting out, they manage to suggest to Andy (through a note he thinks is from his mother) that he give all the toys to Bonnie, including Woody. As reluctant as he is, he gives in, and the movie ends with Bonnie and Andy playing with the toys together. Finally, it comes time for him to leave, and the toys watch as he departs for the last time.
