7 Awesome Supervillain Costumes In Movies (And 7 That Sucked)

2. General Zod (Reeve Superman Movies)

superman zod It's easy to say that this incarnation of General Zod appeared in movies that were made in 1978 and 1980 respectively and then use that as an excuse for his awful costume, but there really can be no excuse in any era for this outfit which was worn by the Kryptonian enforcer and his cronies. It's best described as dressing gown meets wet suit and is genuinely hideous. It had an extremely high waistline, a very low cut V-neck and excess hanging material on both the legs and arms. It's something that women might have got away with in the early-mid 1980s (and that's probably why Ursa looked better than both Zod and Non whilst wearing it), but it's certainly not a suit that should ever have been worn by a man - especially one being presented as a threat to Superman (whose outfit in those movies was pretty ghastly as well, for the record). It basically looked like something that should have been worn on an eccentric 1980s catwalk and then disposed of abruptly.
