In a galaxy far, far away... no, actually. It's in a store room.

When people think of Star Wars, it'll always be regarded as one of the first movies to truly use special effects and make it work. George Lucas founded the visual effects company, Industrial Light and Magic, in 1975 and he used it to create Star Wars. The visual effects were called motion controlled photography, essentially creating an illusion of size by moving small models and slowly moving cameras. Clever, eh? These were effects that had never seen on film before and this was exactly what Lucas wanted when he envisioned Star Wars - total originality.

What I've just described is exactly what you see in that image above. Even though we know that none of it is real, isn't it strange to think that it was essentially created using glorified toys?
