1. "Luke..."
I know that this is the second time I've placed Star Wars on this list. But one of the most iconic scenes in cinema history is perfectly ruined here. Whenever I see this scene now, I can only think "mattresses". This, to me, is the perfect example of being fully engrossed in a movie. Like I said in the introduction to this article, there's something magical in being able to be transported to another world. This scene is the embodiment of that, an emotional rollercoaster ride that ends in the most unexpected of ways (Only if you've been living under a rock for the past thirty-something years, that is). This image totally deconstructs that, leaving the Star Wars universe and stripping it down to what it actually is, a movie. It just goes to show how much we can believe in the characters and the universe that a film is able to create, which is a truly magical thing.
