2. The Muppets
To me, this is probably the most heartbreaking photo on this list. Despite being puppets, there's a mystique about The Muppets that can make you suspend your disbelief and believe. Just for a second. Here, we see Kermit with the man who created him, the late Jim Henson. It's hard to believe that Kermit and his friends have been around since 1955 and are still going strong. This picture shows the connection that Henson had with a puppet and strangely, the connection that the puppet had with him. That sounds a little weird, but I'm sure that any person who has ever spent time watching The Muppets can appreciate where I'm coming from. Just to make you feel even worse, at Henson's funeral, a Kermit the Frog puppet was placed in the coffin with him. He simply held up a sign saying, "I've lost my voice."
