Ricky Gervais has a pretty full plate right now. Not only is he pimping out David Brent: Life on the Road, he's also written and directed a remake of a French comedy.

Special Correspondents, or Envoyés très Spéciaux as they called it in the foreign picture houses where you can still smoke, is a Netflix original that tells the story of a struggling radio journalist and his tubby sidekick who report on a South American war - live from New York.

Think Eric Bana is the straight man to Gervais's comedy foil? Wrong. Long before Bana turned out as Nero in Star Trek, the Hulk in Hulk and Mark Read in Chopper, he spent three years in the cast of 90s sketch show Full Frontal. You'll find plenty of clips on YouTube, including the infamous bathroom skit featuring a powerful tap and a pair of lightly-coloured trousers. Oh those Aussies.
