7 Best And 7 Worst Releases On Netflix In April
7. Worst - War Pigs
Sadly this Expendables-lite outing has nothing to do with Black Sabbath.
Dolph Lundgren teams up with Mickey Rourke and Luke Goss to exterminate the Nazis "by any means necessary", and that would be a really strong premise if the movie didn't take itself so seriously. Imagine what you could do with a former boyband member, a one-time He-man, the bloke from The Wrestler and a few dozen grenades?
The budget doesn't look big but when ninety percent of your film is set outdoors you can get away with shooting in the woods and it still looks alright. Sadly, like the German corpses the boys inevitably leave behind, this rest of this film is a little stiff.
It's high on drama but ultimately lacks the humour and downright stupidity found in abundance during The Expendables franchise. Shame it couldn't be more brave.
War Pigs is on Netflix now.
