7 Biggest Movie And TV News This Week (July 5)

1. Community Finds New Life On Yahoo

NBCCommunity fans rejoice! The show may have gotten cancelled by NBC a few months ago, but the beloved sitcom has found new life thanks to Yahoo! Screen. The sixth season will consist of 13 episodes, which will air exclusively on Yahoo! Screen in the fall. Dan Harmon will return as executive producer and showrunner, and the cast has all signed on to return. NBCNBCThis news couldn't have come at a better time, because the stars were just hours away from their deals expiring. Talk about waiting until the last minute, eh Yahoo? And, as if that weren't enough, Sony Television has come out and said that "there's no way we're not making a movie now!" The show's pickup seemingly has given them confidence to move ahead with their #sixseasonsandamovie plan, and there's always the chance that, if the show does well, it will live on for even longer. Well folks, that will do it for this week's edition of the WhatCulture News Brief. I hope you enjoyed the stories this week, and that you'll continue the conversation down in the comment section below. What did you think of this news? Are you happy about Community season six, or do you have something to say about Arrow season 3 or Sherlock season 4?
