7 Bizarre Movie Prequels You Had No Idea Actually Existed

3. The Nightcomers (1971)

night03rs5 Are you noticing a trend with all the movies on this list so far? They're all God-awful. So it's nice to write about a movie prequel that actually didn't turn out quite so badly. I mean, it's no masterpiece, but The Nightcomers - a prequel to 1961 movie The Innocents - is a fairly effective little horror movie from Death Wish director Michael Winner. It also stars Marlon Brando, which is nice. If you've seen The Innocents, you'll know what you're in store for here - it's all haunted houses and ghosts, but Brando puts in a good performance here in the pre-Godfather years, even though his accent is terrible in every single wau. He plays Peter Quint, a former valet and gardener who works at an old spooky house with a couple of orphans. I won't spoil the plot twist for you, nor will I recommend you actually watch this. I'm just saying, compared to most of the schlock on this list, it's quite possible you'd actually be able to sit through this one without smashing your brains against the wall.
