7 Comic Book Movies That Deserve A Reboot (And 6 That Don’t)

1. The Mask

The Mask The 1994 movie starring Jim Carrey was an absolute blast and a huge box office success - bringing in an impressive $351m at the box office after spending a budget of only $23m. Carrey was fantastic in the role - a role which seemed made for him - and he was nominated for a Golden Globe as a result. The movie didn't take itself too seriously and, consequently, it was a whole lot of fun. The visual effects were great at the time (earning the movie an Oscar nomination), so imagine what could be done with the film on an aesthetic level today. A sequel - Son of the Mask - was released in 2005, starring Jamie Kennedy. It was awful, completely bombed at the box office and received no less than eight Raspberry nominations, but let's forget about that because it simply wasn't in the same league as the original and a reboot could be so much better. Carrey's 51 now and would need to be replaced and it's very hard to think of who could come close to performing the role as well as he did, but it's surely worth a go. Now, let's take a look at six comic book movies that don't deserve a reboot...
