7 Crazy Harry Potter Fan Theories (That Are Totally Believable)

1. Dumbledore Has A Horcrux

Consider the definition of a Horcrux for a moment: "an object within which a wizard [or witch] hides a piece of his [or her] soul. This is the Darkest of magic and can only be performed after a wizard [or witch] splits his [or her] soul by committing murder, a pure act of evil. A Horcrux protects the bit of soul encased within from anything that might happen to a wizard's [or witch's] body. Once a Horcrux has been created, the wizard [or witch] who made it cannot be killed until the object is destroyed."

Now consider the theory that Albus Dumbledore created one for himself.

This theory suggests that the erstwhile headmaster of Hogwarts accidentally made Fawkes the Phoenix his Horcrux after the three way duel between himself, his brother Aberforth and Gellert Grindelwald. During the duel, Dumbledore's sister Ariana Dumbledore was killed in the crossfire and nobody knew who struck the killing blow, but there was very much a suggestion that Albus was to blame (not least in his own brother's eyes).

JK Rowling may have denounced the theory, but what sort of great fan theory would it be if it took any notice of the creator.
